MerIT Gift Card Program Overview
The MerIT Gift Card program provides an opportunity for managers to recognize the behaviors that drive our success as an IT organization. When a manager observes a member demonstrating or supporting the IT Tenets, he or she can award a MerIT Gift Card.
Eligible Participants:
Managers may award any HNI IT member a $25 or $50 MerIT Gift Card, which is a Visa gift card that can be used anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted.
Recognition Criteria:
Managers who witness a member who goes above and beyond in their efforts to demonstrate one or more of the IT Tenets should consider awarding that member a $25 or $50 MerIT Gift Card.

Process:

Managers should consider how a member may prefer to be recognized and be awarded their gift card. Some individuals may enjoy receiving recognition in front of peers. Others may prefer to be recognized on a one-on-one basis. Whatever method you choose, make sure to tell the member why you are recognizing him or her.
The gift card value is taxable and will appear on each winner's paycheck as taxable earnings. However, the company will include an additional gross up amount on the paycheck to completely offset the taxes owed on the gift card value.
